## What is 2.4634?

2.4634 is the European material number (Werkstoff-Nr.) for a wrought nickel-cobalt-chromium superalloy. It is designated NiCo20Cr15MoAlTi in DIN 17744 and is widely known by the trade name Nimonic 105. Molybdenum, aluminium and titanium additions strengthen the alloy, which age-hardens to about 1150 MPa tensile strength at room temperature and is designed for load-bearing service up to about 950 °C (1740 °F).

Jiangyin Jiangnan Metal Co., Ltd. is an open-die forging factory in Jiangyin, Jiangsu, China. We forge 2.4634 into seamless rolled rings, flanges, discs, shafts, round bars, sleeves, bushings, tube sheets and forged pipe, made to customer drawings, ultrasonically tested and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2 certification.

2.4634 holds its strength and creep resistance at temperatures where stainless and alloy steels have already softened. It is specified for gas turbine discs and rings, hot-section fasteners, exhaust valve parts, furnace components and hot working tooling. The alloy has a narrow hot working window and a relative machinability rating of about 14 %, so it needs closer process control than ordinary grades.

## Frequently asked questions about 2.4634

**What is 2.4634?**
2.4634 is the European material number for a wrought nickel-cobalt-chromium superalloy designated NiCo20Cr15MoAlTi and delivered to DIN 17744. It contains roughly 54 % nickel, 20 % cobalt, 15 % chromium and 5 % molybdenum, with aluminium and titanium additions that form the gamma-prime precipitate responsible for its high-temperature strength.

**Is 2.4634 the same as Nimonic 105?**
Yes. Nimonic 105 is the trade name for the alloy carrying material number 2.4634. The same alloy is listed as UNS N13021, ISO NW 3021, BS HR3 and AFNOR NCKD 20ATv. Composition limits vary slightly between standards, so confirm the specification named on your drawing when ordering.

**What is the maximum service temperature of 2.4634?**
2.4634 was developed for load-bearing service up to approximately 950 °C (1740 °F). Its useful limit in a given application depends on stress level, required life and the surrounding atmosphere, so creep-rupture data for the actual duty should be reviewed at the design stage.

**What forged shapes can be made from 2.4634?**
Jiangyin Jiangnan Metal Co., Ltd. supplies 2.4634 as seamless rolled rings, forged flanges, discs, round bars, shafts, sleeves, bushings, tube sheets, forged pipe, gear blanks and valve components. Parts are forged to customer drawings and can be delivered as-forged, rough machined or finish machined.

**What heat treatment do 2.4634 forgings receive?**
The standard cycle is 4 hours at 1150 °C with air cooling, followed by 16 hours at 1050 to 1065 °C with air cooling, then 16 hours at 850 °C with air cooling. Forgings can also be supplied solution treated only, or to a customer-specified cycle.

**Is 2.4634 difficult to machine?**
Yes. 2.4634 has a relative machinability rating of about 14 % and a typical hardness near 34 HRC in the aged condition, placing it among the harder nickel-base alloys to cut. Sharp, positive-rake carbide geometry, rigid setups, low surface speeds and generous coolant are recommended. Rough machined forgings can be supplied so that only finishing passes remain.

**What certification is supplied with 2.4634 forgings?**
Every order ships with an EN 10204 3.1 material certificate covering chemistry, mechanical properties, heat treatment condition and heat number. EN 10204 3.2 certification with third-party witness such as SGS, BV, TUV or Lloyd's is available on request, as are ultrasonic reports to EN 10228-3, SEP 1921 or ASTM A388.

**What is the minimum order quantity for 2.4634 forgings?**
The minimum order is one piece and there is no tonnage minimum. Lead time depends on billet availability and part size and is confirmed in writing with each quotation.

**Can you forge 2.4634 to our drawing?**
Yes. Made-to-drawing open-die forging is our normal way of working. Send a PDF, STEP or DWG file with the required specification, heat-treatment condition, testing scope and certification level, and we will return a quotation with the forging route and lead time.
